The building is a privately owned ancient hotel consisting of two houses separated by a small courtyard. The house facing the street dates back to 1777. The frontal part of the house is built out of natural stone (the majority of the houses in the Netherlands are made out of brick). The house facing the courtyard was built earlier and has retained its original charm. The houses have kept many of their original features and are refurbished only partially. In so doing they have maintained their authenticity and welcoming warmth. Through the garden at the back of house, you can access the old port. Weather permitting, you can spend time resting in a pleasurable surrounding.
The building is currently being refurbished, reason why not all sections are totally restored.
You can find more background information about the building (Dutch only) in this downloadable document.
